Moreover, Somvati Amavasya is one of the few days in a year as a special observance when the moon and the Nakshatra are aligned, usually creating a spiritual synergy with Amavasya and Monday. This day is important for Hindus and is credited for dedicating special attention. It focuses on sacred acts such as:
Dipping one’s body in holy reservoirs,’ Nikayopu.
Pay pilot tarapyam sahishnuh.
Feeding garu.
In parting, cows.
Those who are said will reap lasting fruits of favorable merit proffered by ancestors and free from their bondage, aiding with uplifting in spirit.”
