The show's creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has confirmed that he is in discussions with Netflix to produce both a second and a third season, bringing Seong Gi-hun's dramatic story to a definitive end.
While fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter, it’s important to remember that Season 2 is set to premiere first, with a current release window of December 2024. The plan is to film Season 2 and Season 3 back-to-back, which means the grand finale will likely follow in late 2025 or even 2026.

The explosive finale of Season 1 saw Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) abandon his plans to reunite with his daughter in the U.S. after spotting the game's recruiters at the airport.
