MS Dhoni R Ashwin: The countdown to IPL 2025 has officially started with less than a month left. Most franchises have set up camps and the players are currently gearing up for the event. In this context, renowned sportsperson Mahendra Singh Dhoni has arrived in Chennai. He has also started training alongside his fellow players of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team. The franchise has posted multiple clips. Moreover, the clip of Dhoni meeting with captain Rituraj Gaikwad has staged a buzz on the internet.
Ashwin returned to the team after 10 years
Alongside Dhoni, veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also come along to the team. Adding on, Ashwin and Dhoni were part of the CSK squad that lifted the IPL Trophy in 2010 and 2011 back to back. Ashwin has returned to the team after a decade. The franchise purchased him during the mega auction for Rs 9.70 crore. Now he will be back to topping his mark on his home ground.
Chepauk will witness the magic of the ‘trio’
Now Ashwin will be found in Chepauk along with Dhoni, and former competitor of India’s bowling unit Ravindra Jadeja. All the three greats will be looking to complete the incredible feat by making the team champions for the sixth time. CSK posted a video on social media that showed Dhoni and Ashwin striding onto the ground for practice which has melted the hearts of the fans of the team.
Ashwin's heart recalls his memories from 2011.
When Ashwin returned to CSK, he mentioned that he recalls the 2011 auction when the franchise was ready to bid for him. To quote him, “They say life is a circle. I played for them from 2008 to 2015. I am forever indebted to them. Whatever I have learnt at CSK has taken me this far in international cricket. To think that I have not played for CSK in a decade seems unreal. The price, CSK buying me and all that. But, I am getting old memories because, CSK fought for me during the auction. It was a trip down memory lane. It is a very special feeling."
