A nice sway of controversy involving Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Rice has erupted which has a lot of people talking, and many of them are taking interest in their legal issues. One of them, is the comedian Tanmay Bhat who knows both Ranveer and Samay and tried pronouncing the whole thing on one of his videos recently. His reaction tied in humor around the situation, and added in a bit of a sweet touch making it particularly interesting.
Known for his Tanmay’s unpredictable wit and dry humor, he provided his commentary to Ranveer’s show on a Samay Raina’s episode.
Whether intentionally or not, I think everyone reading this remembers the clip where Ranveer was laughing and had a good ‘time’, unlike Tanmay “Doodh ka doodh, paani ka paani hua yaar us din." Here again, he points out the blunder both Samay and Ranveer found themselves in ‘loosely’ putting out the matter now defers the high point of joy.
He and his comedy panel used the ‘in-famous’ fireworks clip of Ranaver’s advanced jet plane show in combination to break down how he straight up meets catastrophe and ridiculed as if they actually are quitepersons out for a comic set and asgtwag. Summing of the laughter in the end, Tanmay said, “Behti hawa to tha woh” saying it the way and making a point trying to controversy that pops emotion and deep connection.
The controversy began with comments made by Ranveer and Samay while on the show India’s Got Latent which is famous for its crass satire. Their statements, however, resulted in a legal probe, during which Maharashtra Cyber officials interrogated Ranveer for almost two hours. Sources suggest that during the interrogation, Ranveer accepted his blunders when he said that he only attended the show because his friend was Samay Raina. At the same time, Samay who is currently in Canada for his Samay Raina Unfiltered tour has not yet given a comprehensive statement.
In this case, one user asked in the comments of Tanmay’s video why he is not supporting Samay which is something a lot of fans seemed to wonder. Tanmay, who himself has been embroiled in controversy before, as expected addressed the comment, letting everyone know what his opinion is: “How come these people are not taking a stand for everything that is happening.” This seemed to jog the memory of many regarding the outrage caused to Tanmay and fellow comedian Rohan Joshi after their controversial roast video.
To respond to the question, Tanmay offered a response that was simultaneously humorous and relatable. He stated, “Whenever there is someone in your family who falls sick, koi ajeeb bimari ho gayi toh you always remember, ‘Arre mere ek mamu the 7 saal pehle unko bhi yeh ho gaya tha.’ Phir tum unhe phone karte ho ki kaise hua tha.” He then added, “I am comedy’s patient zero.”
This was not just a comment but hinting towards Tanmay's experience with controversies but much more, it reflects the systemic outrage on the internet. This was self aware and humorous for many and hence was appreciated.
Now with the controversy still in tilt, it will be interesting how Ranveer and Samay will be dealing with this. Tanmay's response serves as a thoughtful diagnosis which may help in formulating a strategy for the entire ungle of issues.
