Veteran Tamil comedian and actress Bindu Ghosh, known for her comic roles in Tamil cinema, passed away on Sunday, March 16. She was 76 years old and had been battling age-related health issues for a long time. The actress breathed her last at a hospital in Chennai, where she was receiving treatment.

According to reports, her family confirmed the news of her passing. The funeral service is scheduled for Monday, with several celebrities from the Tamil film industry expected to pay their last respects.

Struggles with Health and Finances

Bindu Ghosh had been facing multiple health issues and had undergone heart surgery. Reports also suggest that she was struggling financially, making it difficult for her to afford medical treatments and daily expenses.

In a past interview, the actress revealed that her eldest son had abandoned her as he was unable to take care of her. Her younger son tried to support her, but his limited financial resources made it challenging.

Support from the Film Industry

Despite her struggles, many actors stepped forward to offer financial assistance. Actor Bala contributed Rs 80,000 for her medical expenses and promised to cover her future needs. Additionally, actors like Richard and Ramalingam extended financial support to help her during her difficult times.

Bindu Ghosh was widely recognized for her comic timing and performances in Tamil films. She made her debut in the film Kalathur Kannamma, which also marked the debut of Kamal Haasan. She acted in numerous films alongside Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, leaving a lasting impact on Tamil cinema.
