Pat Cummins has created a stir by taking the first hat-trick in the T20 World Cup 2024. Pat Cummins became the second bowler from Australia and the seventh in the world to take a hat-trick in the history of the T20 World Cup tournament. Before Pat Cummins, Brett Lee took a hat-trick for Australia in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Pat Cummins completed his hat-trick in the T20 World Cup 2024 by dismissing Mahmudullah (2), Mehdi Hasan (0) and Tauhid Hridoy (40) in the Super-8 match of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Bangladesh on Friday. Pat Cummins sent Mahmudullah and Mehdi Hasan back to the pavilion on the last two balls of the 18th over. Pat Cummins then took the first hat-trick in the T20 World Cup 2024 by dismissing Tauhid Hridoy (40) on the first ball of the 20th over.

Australia won the toss in this match and decided to bowl and challenged Bangladesh to bat first.
