Relaxation Available School Holiday 2025: School students have something to cheer up for. States have started declaring summer vacations in schools due to child’s health concerns and heat-wave post-examination period. So far, vacations have been announced in M.P., Delhi, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Tamilnadu, Himachal Pradesh and rest are expected to be in U.P ,Rajasthan, Haryana.
As discussed earlier, all these states have announced school holidays during April, May, and June stretching into summer vocations period. In addition to that, some other schools have altered their routine slots. Here the Punjab government has announced a statewide holiday on Cmqtt29, 2025 on the occasion of Lord Parshuram Jayanti, all government institutions including schools, colleges and universities will stay shut.
In which state are the dates for the summer holidays allocated and what’s the duration? This is what we will focus on now.
Madhya Pradesh: The instruction issued by the School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh Government states that students have summer vacation from May 1st to June 15th and for teachers from May 1st to 31st. All private and government schools in the state will observe the vacation at the same time and holiday is said to be universal.
Chhattisgarh: In Chhattisgarh, summer vacation for schools will be observed from 25 April to June 15, 2025. Initially, the holiday was to commence from May 1. However, due to extreme heat waves during this season, the government has been considerate about the health and safety of children, thus providing an administrative holiday starting 5 days in advance. This decision, however, only affects students as teachers continue with their regular obligations.
Delhi: The schedule for summer breaks remains unchanged; Delhi schools shall observe summer holidays from May 11 to June 31. As with the rest of the teachers across the country, they officially report to school on June 28.
Jharkhand: The holidays will now commence on the 22nd of May and conclude on the 4th of June 2025. According to the calendar put forth by the Education Ministry of Jharkhand, these breaks were scheduled up to June 2.
Tamil Nadu: In Tamil Nadu students will commence summer holidays on the 15th of April onwards. The break for standard 5 runs from April 22 to June 1. The class VI to IX as well as standard 10 students from will enjoy these dates gapped until the April 25.
Himachal Pradesh: This time summer vacation for schools in Himachal Pradesh will be from 12 July to 12 August. It now spans 32 days instead of 38, which was earlier from 22 June to 29 July. April now has been removed of 4 holidays, but summer break has been changed to the 1-8 June period. The 30-day summer break will be from 1-30 June for the schools in Nalagarh, Fatehpur, Nagarota Surian, Indora, Paonta Sahib, Kala Amb and District Una.
School Timing Change: In these districts School Changes has also been done for areas where there are no school vacations or those that do not require them. To this end, School changes have been completed in Lucknow, Agra, Pratapgarh and Amethi in UP.
Classes 1 to 8 in Agra will be taught from 7am till 12 pm, shift clocked to 07:30 and 12:30 in Pratapgarh and Amethi. Not permitted during that period are sporting and other leisure activities outside the classroom. The principal is the sole delegate of all negligent acts. This changes the responsibility, to the school principals from teachers.
In the period of April 19 to May 16, 2025, all government and private educational institutions in Hanumangarh, Dausa, and Jhunjhunun will observe a holiday from 7:30 to 11:30, 11:00, and 7:30 onwards. Moreover, primary and middle schools in Dausa will be active from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
These changes for Hanumangarh will also be applicable for Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Barmer, Didwana, Sri Ganganager, and even more.
