The proposed rescheduling stems directly from intense logistical pressures on law enforcement agencies in the national capital. With the high-profile BRICS Summit scheduled to take place in Delhi from September 11 to September 13, local security forces are facing an enormous administrative load. The Delhi Police formally communicated their concerns to the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), pointing out that hosting a major international cricket match expected to draw between 25,000 and 30,000 spectators on the final day of the global summit would severely strain personnel deployment and emergency management.

In their official correspondence, the Delhi Police highlighted critical traffic management hurdles around the stadium precinct, noting that vital arterial routes including DDU Marg, BSZ Marg, Minto Road, and Kamala Market consistently witness heavy pedestrian and vehicular congestion. Managing simultaneous high-security events posed an unmanageable challenge for the force. While the original BCCI schedule slated matches for September 13, 15, and 17, a shift in the opener could trigger a domino effect on the remaining fixtures.
