7 batsmen who hit the longest sixes in international cricket, Shahid Afridi at No. 1

Post

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi holds the record for the longest six in international cricket. Afridi hit a 153-meter six in an ODI against South Africa in 2013. Although many believe Afridi's six didn't go that far, he remains on record as the batsman who hit the longest six.

It's worth noting that the second name on the list isn't a batsman, but a bowler. Australian fast bowler Brett Lee holds the record for hitting the second-most sixes. Lee hit a 143-meter-long six in a Test match against the West Indies in 2005.

7 Batsmen Who Hit the Longest Six in International Cricket

Shahid Afridi (Pakistan) – 153m (ODI against South Africa in 2013)

Brett Lee (Australia) – 143 metres (in the 2005 Test against West Indies)

Tim David (Australia) – 129m (T20I against India in 2025)

Martin Guptill (New Zealand) – 127m (T20I against South Africa in 2012)

Liam Livingstone (England) – 122m (in a T20I against Pakistan in 2021)

Corey Anderson (New Zealand) – 122m (ODI against India in 2014)

Mark Waugh (Australia) – 120 metres (in the 1997 Test against New Zealand)

Record held for 13 years

The record for the longest six hit was set 13 years ago. It will be interesting to see who breaks this record. This is one of those rare records that doesn't seem easy to break.

For example, the record for the highest average in Test cricket is held by former Australian legend Sir Don Bradman. He scored at an average of 99.94 in his Test career. Similarly, the record for the highest individual score in Test and ODI cricket also seems very difficult to break. Former West Indies legend Brian Lara scored 400* against England in Test cricket. Meanwhile, India's Rohit Sharma holds the record for the highest individual score in ODI cricket. Rohit scored 264 against Sri Lanka in 2013.
