Sleeper Vande Bharat Train: Kerala Likely to Receive India's First Sleeper Version Soon:

Sleeper Vande Bharat: At present chair car Vande Bharat trains are operating across the country. Now new updates have come about Sleeper Vande Bharat. There are plans to operate sleeper version of Vande Bharat on railway tracks soon. After the launch Kerala may get the gift of first Sleeper Vande Bharat train. This train is expected to operate within Kerala between Thiruvananthapuram and Mangaluru. Passengers who used to travel sitting through chair cars will now be able to travel comfortably sleeping through sleeper trains.

As per reports in Times of India, preparations are being made to run sleeper Vande Bharat trains on many other routes apart from the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru route. Also, the government is planning to operate it on new routes like Thiruvananthapuram-Bengaluru and Kanyakumari-Srinagar. This means that soon the South will receive many sleeper Vande Bharat trains which will serve millions of passengers.

The Integral Coach Factory trains were built by Bharat Earth Movers Limited. The train will be an AC model with 16 coaches, accommodating 1128 passengers. It is expected that the train will operate on routes that require a minimum of seven to eight hours or overnight travel, so that passengers can comfortably rest during the journey and arrive in the morning.

Vande Bharat train service to Srinagar postponed

In the meantime, the starting off Vande Bharat train from Katra in Jammu to Srinagar has also been put on hold. The PM was supposed to begin the other day but is now stuck in bad weather. There is no timeline set, although it will be communicated soon. USBRL’s inauguration program has also been put on hold and relocated to “more favorable” regions. The PM’s schedule further involved starting the special Kashmir editions of the Vande Bharat Express at Mata chi Katra and winding up in Kashmir. Sources commented that there is a big possibility that the inauguration ceremony is set for late April or early May.
