In the midst of the Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has said that there is no need for departments like CBI and ED and they should be closed. He has also said that he will put this proposal before the India Alliance.
In an interview to an English newspaper, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that institutions like CBI and ED should be closed. These agencies are being used only against the political opponents of BJP. If you have committed a scam, then there is Income Tax Department to deal with it. Why do you need CBI? There is an anti-corruption department in every state. Use it if needed.
CBI and ED are used to make or break governments: Akhilesh Yadav
Akhilesh Yadav further said, “Institutions like CBI and ED are being used to make or break governments. Why don’t CBI and ED investigate how people converted their black money into white during demonetisation?”
When Akhilesh Yadav was asked if India will take such a step if it comes into a coalition government, he replied that this is my proposal and I will put it in front of the coalition partners.
Alliance with Congress will continue even after Lok Sabha elections: Akhilesh
Responding to questions related to the alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party for the Lok Sabha elections, Akhilesh Yadav said that whatever the result, the alliance between the two parties will continue even after the Lok Sabha elections are over. We will ensure that the alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party continues. And whatever elections come in the future, this alliance will remain. But at the moment our effort is to form the government.
