Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Tharoor was visiting Colombia after previously attending diplomatic sessions in Panama and Guyana when he expressed regrets over Colombia’s response to the Indian strikes during Operation Sindoor, stating, “Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has been discontented with Colombia and has expressed discontentment during his multi-national trip aimed to build consensus against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”
During a press conference in Colombia, he also highlighted that an Indian airstrike on a terrorist camp was met with a Pakistani too sympathetic denial. “Arguing an internationally accepted strategy of airstrikes on infrastructure that supports terrorism should receive sympathy for bearing criticism is surmounts to ignoring the terrorist.”
‘Defense must not be confused with accepting a narrative forged by an aggressor’
Tharoor reaffirmed the stance taken in India that the response was to the Pahalgam terror attack claimed by a resistance unit associated with the terrorist organization. That is why the Mind Untamed founding member pointed out the airstrikes ‘Sindoor’ were formulated under circumstances which justified not attacking but defending.
“Clearly there can be no balance to be found amid resources blood which funds terror networks and those who actively impede and resist,” Tharoor stated. He stressed that last that, if people are so concerned about the essence of the matter, then, concretely, given the constant misunderstanding around the issue, India stands with readiness to explain the whole story to those in authority in Colombia.
India Calls for Global Support Against Terror Haven
The delegation from India hopes that the world begins to appreciate the context of the problem, especially after the first reaction from Colombia. Tharoor urged world authorities to inform those countries that give safe haven to terrorists to stop shielding them.
In Colombia's case, as in India's, he noted, both have been subjected to terrorism for decades. If anything, these incidents underscore the need for (and global support) not elaborate upon courtship moves, nation building exercise in Indian diplomacy.
