Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan achieved a record breaking milestone as he became the first male actor from Bollywood to attend The Met Gala as he walked the carpet on May 5th 2025 at The Metropolitan Musuem of Art. Collection from sabya sachi perfectly fit him at the event, as Khan was crowned the best-dressed man at the event by Launchmetrics.

A walking stick with an 18-carrot gold Bengal tiger embedded.
Sabyasachi Mukherjee designed this look along with the tiger head walking stick and truly out-did himself. His media impact however surpassed what anyone would have expected, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, it stood at an astonishing $19 million in Media Impact Value.
Met Gala Red Carpet Drama
Much of the attention was on Khan, especially when a reporter asked him to present himself, bringing forward backlash from fans claiming that this self-introduction was a needless mockery. Even the co-masters of ceremony Teyana Taylor and Ego Nwodim appeared not to know who the actor was and Sabyasachi had to jump in with, "He is probably the most famous man in the world."
This resulted in people criticising the host and the media for being "ill-prepared" and "too rude."
Defenses and Responses
Karan Johar defended Khan on Instagram by posting a caption “The King” accompanied by Khan’s picture. He posted the Met Gala photo on social media which garnered over 5.7 million likes and 80,500 comments.
Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, 41, also gained some attention at the Met Gala where he ranked third on the best-dressed list alongside an MIV of $7.3 million. He wore an outfit designed by Prabal Gurung showcasing spearhead Sikh fashion his ensemble featured:

Bedazzled turban
Necklaces, stones, and jewels encrusted

His outfit was commended for the bold and colorful design as well as its strong cultural representation.
