The summer vacations have been announced for students of North India owing to the harsh heatwave conditions which provides relief to students across various states. Here’s a comprehensive snapshot on school summer vacations and altered schedules for certain states:
State-wise Summer Vacation Details:


Madhya Pradesh:
Students: May 1 – June 15, 2025

Teachers: May 1 – May 31, 2025

Delhi:
Students: May 11 – June 30, 2025

Teachers to resume duties from June 28, 2025

Jharkhand:
Students: May 22 – June 4, 2025 (Extended due to heatwave)
Tamil Nadu:
Class 1-5: April 22 – June 1, 2025
Class 6-9: April 25 – June 1, 2025
Class 10: April 15 – June 1, 2025

Himachal Pradesh:
Regular schools: July 12 – August 12, 2025 (32 days)
Select districts (Nalagarh, Fatehpur, Nagarota Surian, Indora, Paonta Sahib, Kala Amb, Una): June 1 – June 30, 2025 (30 days)

Uttar Pradesh:
May 18 – June 15, 2025 (28 days)
Special summer camps in council schools: May 20 – June 15, 2025

Special Holiday in Punjab:

April 29, 2025: State holiday declared for Lord Parshuram Jayanti. All government offices, schools, colleges and universities will remain closed. Essential services will remain operational

New School Timings Changes Due to Heatwave:  

Uttar Pradesh (Agra district): All teachers and students from nursery to class 8 will follow from 7:00 am – 12:30 pm until further notice. All outdoor school activities are suspended during this time.  

Rajasthan:  

Hanumangarh: The schedule will be from 7:00 am – 12:30 pm for all students.  
Dausa: Primary and upper primary schools will start from 7:30 am. A break is observed from 11:30 am.  
Jhunjhunun: Schools are scheduled from April 19 – May 16, 2025, timing set from 07:30 to 11:00.  

Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Didwana-Kuchaman, Sriganganagar, Beawar: Have and will continue to move these enhance to the center to rest because of the excessive heat.  

The purpose for these decisions is to protect the children due to the rising mercurials.
