Mumbai Police have located a death threat directed at actor Salman Khan, tracing it to a 26-year-old man from Waghodia taluka of Vadodara district in Gujarat. Police officials claim that the suspect in question has been found to be schizophrenic and is undergoing treatment.

The threat in question was made via the WhatsApp helpline of the Mumbai Traffic Police on Sunday, threatening to blow up Khan’s car and beat him to the point of kidnapping at his home.

FIR Lodged and Summons Sent

The Worli police in Mumbai punished the individual and registered a case under the 351(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, dealing with criminal intimidation. Security was also intensified outside the actor’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra.

Mumbai Police, together with local Waghodia police, traced the location and went to the suspect’s house on Monday. It was confirmed by Vadodara SP Rohan Anand that the person in question suffers from mental health issues. He was subsequently issued a summons to appear before the Mumbai police.

Past Risks and Improvements In Security

Salman Khan has received threats in the past and continues to receive them today. The actor was the target of assassination attempts a risked being shot in April 2023 when two men on bikes shot four times on his Bandra home. It was established that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible behind these attempts alongside the black buck poaching attempts.

Even with the attempt put Khan has been given Y-Plus category security which is known to have an armed escort and guard him closely. To make matters worse, authorities found out later that there was an active plan to shoot him while he was in route to his Panvel farmhouse which only amplified his security worries.
