Suspense crime, Digital Desk : During the second day of the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar spoke about culture, diversity, and technology and how they affect Global future planning. Dr. Jaishankar noted that global pluralism has been a victim to colonialism as well as the rule of big powers.
“Human beings and the world are diverse in nature.” He spoke about how global diversity has been oppressed because of colonialism and authoritative power rule.
Strengthening Regional Characteristics in Democracy
“Dr. Jaishankar further highlighted the importance of local customs, heritage, creativity, and ideas at an easy international level.” He classifies the deep change happening globally as one that has a cultural aspect to it, adding that technology helps enable development that is inclusive.
“This is best accomplished by reallocating the power of technology,” he claimed. “Cutting-edge technology will be crucial to the leapfrogging that accelerates ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047’.”
Technological Transition and the Workforce
With regards to computerized creation of an inclusive global workforce, the Minister spoke about the need for retraining shift mindsets, policies and globally inclusive frameworks. Changes in thinking, strategies, policies and practices to create a global workplace and workforce as he elaborated. In his explanation, he noted that mobility and flexibility in tasking will be pivotal to global creativity.
Focusing on the issue of information overflow in the digital world, Jaishankar emphasized the need for relevant skill youth development. “Making young people ready for this, including through skills diffusion, is crucial,” he noted.
The Problems Encountered in AI and the Responsibility Regarding Technology's Ethics
An exacerbated concern with AI plagiarizing works and encroaching issues of authenticity was also discussed by Jaishankar. “Every single technological advancement brings with it a plethora of issues to tackle. So too, will the questions stemming from AI during its wider adoption.” He continued on by mentioning his thoughts on businesses having to navigate new corporate boundaries of intellectual property while fostering creativity: “The issues are boundlessly intricate.”
Jaishankar quoted other speakers with highlights such as: “There is specialization being done on bias mitigation, on content democratization, as well as within norms that uphold moral standards themselves.” These are reasons why responsibility concerning emerging frontiers of technology practically culminated at his speech as a growing focus.
WAVES 2025, begins on May 1st in Jio World Centre, Mumbai till May 4th is a section of the entertainment world exhibition and features every single individual and entity partaking in the entertainment industry all over the world.
The 2025 edition of WAVES is aimed at further bolstering India’s media and entertainment sector which reported revenue standing at ₹ 2.5 trillion in the year 2024.
