Suspense crime, Digital Desk : “External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday dismissed claims by Former President Donald Trump of United States stepping in as a mediator for ceasefire between India and Pakistan during the military standoff that took place during Operation Sindoor. He explained the situation further by stating it was Pakistan who asked for the firing to stop due to significant loss of damage.”
“Jaishankar: Pakistan Requested Halt, Not India”
“Jaishankar while addressing the press stated that the military operations carried out by India focused on terror camps, not the Pakistani military. Still, the Pakistani army decided to get involved and India retaliated with a very strong counter response.”

“‘Satellite imagery displayed the extent of harm we caused as opposed to the insignificant amount they were able to inflict. Those who refused to accept defeat on May 7 were in the situation to talk by the 10th,” said Jaishankar, accentuating the de-escalation request from Pakistan.”

“On May 7, India executed Operation Sindoor where nine terror camps based in POK (Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir) along with other parts of Pakistan were destroyed. In response, Pakistan initiated its ownhostilities along the LoC and International border targeting the civilian populace indiscriminately.”
“Response was provided through careful and exact airstrikes conducted by the IAF which alongside neutralizing the out of commission air defenses controlled 11 Pakistani airbases, severely diminishing the remaining operational capability of Pakistan.”
Trump's Controversial Claim of Ceasefire
While addressing the nation, Trump said that a ceasefire has been declared for May 10 and that it was brought on by promises of trade deals facilitated by both sides. This has clearly India’s position on the ceasefire is that it has constantly rejected the idea claiming it to be merely a temporary halt of firing started by Pakistan's DGMO and Pakistan.
India’s Position: No Talks Until Terrorism is Dismantled
India firmly believes it will deal with any future act of terror as an act of war and will not enter negotiations until terrorism is stopped from the Pakistani region.
Lekar said Jaishankar made India’s position regarding Kashmir very clear, that there is no third party intervention is acceptable and reiterated towards him and MR Modi that no one should intervene on this.
Trade Details Still Under Discussion
Jaishankar said that there is further meeting about India and US trade, claiming that talks are active but no dealings have been signed.
Until all relevant matters of consideration are settled no deal shall happen as they both need gain from the deal."
