From Thursday, he embarked on a five-day visit to Aligarh, which is also his first visit to the city in over 14 years. The visit is being viewed as one of the major moves in Sangh’s plans ahead of the centenary year celebrations which starts from this year Vijayadashami.

Strategic meetings with senior Brij region functionaries will be under his guidance wherein they will be looking into Sangh outreach and the organizational presence within the Gram Panchayat levels.

Strengthening the Sangh's Base in the Braj Region
As per sources within the RSS Organization, this visit is more or less aligned with trying to build and consolidate the Indian Sangh Swayamsevak Sangh base in identified places.

It is still unclear if Bhagwat will meet with senior BJP leaders from Uttar Pradesh while in the region, but no formal announcement concerning such engagements has been released as yet.

Enhanced Security Measures in Place
Comprehensive security measures have been put in place for the visit. Sanjiv Ranjan, Aligarh District Magistrate, informed that all necessary protocols have been arranged to have a secure and unchallenged five day schedule.

The Keshav Sevadham Complex on Mathura Road, which will serve as the primary Keshav Sevadham Centre which will host the RSS chief’s meetings is important to the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Aligarh Range Prabhakar Chaudhary as he has bereft from seeing its security infrastructure.

Intense scrutiny by local policemen has also been directed towards vehicles belonging to public transport with seats boarded on them to which they have no designated reservations like buses, as well as towards train stations, resulting in security elevating at locations like bus terminals and railway stations.
