RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has spoken against the practice of caste discrimination, demanding the same rights to temples, water bodies, and even cremation for Hindus of all castes. His phrase 'one temple, one well, one cremation ground’ intends to foster social harmony among the Hindu society.
Message Delivered in Aligarh
During his message, Bhagwat was on a five-day tour of Aligarh and during this period had a meeting with the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) members (swayamsevaks) in Aligarh Inter College shakhas as well as in Panchan Nagri Park. He said that India's potential as a peace anchor for the globe is dependent on social unity and integration.
Sanskar Coalition
As per RSS sources, Bhagwat pointed out ‘sanskar’ or moral and culture as precedents of Hindu society which shows how sanskar can always be perspective-based. He urged that a society where inclusivity is centered should be value-driven and built on tradition along with respect.
Breaking Across Social Strata
These and many more are the changes that Bhagwat expects from swayamsevaks: to invite people regardless of class and caste into their homes to eat, celebrate, and even observe cultural festivals together.
Strengthening Nationalism through Family and Festivals
He focused on the family structure and insisted strongly on the value of a family based on culture and traditions. Collective celebration of cultural festivals was encouraged as a means to promote nationalism and social cohesion.
Part of RSS Centenary Preparations
The trip starting from April 17 also covers daily planning activities with RSS Pracharaks from the Brij Region. These sessions are aimed at preparing for the centenary celebrations of the RSS, which will commence on Vijayadashami.
