Who is Ranya Rao?
Ranya Rao’s mother got married to K. Ramachandra Rao, who happens to be the Director General of Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, making her the step daughter of this Gentleman. She was born on 28 May, 1993 in a city called Chikmagalur in Karnataka. She is an engineering graduate from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore. After completing her degree, she developed interest in films and enrolled in Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute for acting classes. Ranya Rao was interested in acting from a very young age and put in a lot of effort to achieve this goal.
She entered the industry 11 years back.
After a lot of hardwork, she managed to get a break in the Kannada film industry. Ranya debuted in 2014 and was a part of the Kannada film Manikya.
Sudeep was the director and main actor of the film. In the movie, Ranya portrayed a wealthy girl 'Manasa' who was in love with Sudeep. She has been detached from her family after marriage
Ranya Rao just recently married Jatin Hukkeri roughly four months ago. Her husband is an architect specializing in designing pubs and microbreweries located in Bangalore. After tying the knot, Ranya was no longer living with her parents. When her father Ramachandra Rao was discussed during this particular matter, he glanced at the issue and within moments of silence explained how Ranya has refused to visit him since their marriage. He made it clear him and his household know nothing about Ranya and Jatin's employment.

She was arrested for gold smuggling on the 3rd of March in 2025 at Kempegowda International Airport located in Bengaluru.
As per reports, Ranya kept gold hidden in her clothes and wore jewelry to avoid detection during security scans. She was already being watched because of here regular travel to Dubai. Now, officials claimed that surveillance was performed on her Dubai trips since she was purposefully and consistently traveling to Dubai. There is an ongoing inquiry to determine if she acted independently or is involved in a larger criminal syndicate.
