Ranveer Allahbadia: The Supreme Court of India has made things simpler for the Youtuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, enabling him to continue hosting his show. The only condition the court put forward is that Ranveer will have to sign an affidavit promising to censor his show ensuring that people and children of all ages can watch it. In the proceedings, it was noted that the court relief was necessary because this show supports 280 livelihoods.
Nonetheless, the Supreme Court has not given any leniency on the matter regarding international travel for the time being. According to the court, after there is full cooperation towards the investigation, this request will be reconsidered.
Ranveer Allahbadia gained attention for the controversy that stemmed from the show ‘India’s Got Latent’ which stems from comedian and Youtuber Samay Raina’s show. Due to the drama surrounding this show, there were a lot of restrictions that were placed on him. Now, after this decision from the court, his supporters and team feel a sense of relief. This decision of the court shows that while freedom of expression matters, moral obligation should also be considered.
