Ramadan 2025 Starting Date: Islam attaches considerable importance to the month of Ramadan. Its the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. The Muslim community offers worship to Allah by fasting for 29 or 30 days in this month. Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated with immense enthusiasm on the last day of the Ramazan. There is an ambiguity regarding the date of Ramzan. As of now, it is thought that the moon will be sighted on February 28, after which Ramadan is expected to begin on the 1st of March. If the moon is sighted on March 1, then the first fast will be on March 2.

An Appeal for Moon Sighting:

Islamic community is encouraged to look for the moon which signanfies the commencement of Ramadan month. Under the guidance of the President of Markazi Chand Committee Farangi Mahal and Imam of Eidgah Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali has encouraged Muslims to sight the moon on Friday. Maulana also gave out a phone number asking people to confirm moon sighting over the phone. Apart from this, President of Markazi Ruiyat Hilal Committee Maulana Abul Irfan Mian Firangi Mahali has also encouraged moon sighting on Friday.

The moon will be observable tomorrow.

In Lucknow, the people will be able to start seeing the Ramzan moon from 5 PM on the 28th of February. Maulana Sayyed Saif Abbas Naqvi, president of Shia Markazi Chand Committee has issued a number in his appeal to the public that anyone who is able to see the moon, can call and report. Moon sighting can be reported on these numbers.

Plea for the administration on the action intended to be taken

Maulana Abbas said on the proactive steps on Ramazan that I plead the adminstration to kindly ensure the cleaning of the mosques ahead of the sandstorm and foremost, the police should monitor the strip carefully. There are some people who for no reason tend to disrupt the events and festivities so such individuals should be monitored.

And further, Maulana Saif Abbas stated that the month of Ramadan is very soon approaching, and we make a plea to all the individuals to observe fasting as well as give Zakat and aid the poorer in whichever way you can. Zakat and Namaz are essential and in the month of Ramadan, the able should assist the needy and helpless.
