In a significant update for medical aspirants nationwide, the National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially announced the postponement and rescheduling of the NEET-PG 2026 examination for candidates assigned to a specific center in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Following chaotic scenes, student protests, and severe power disruptions at the venue, affected aspirants will now appear for a re-examination on September 5, 2026.
Power Outages and Repeated System Crashes Disrupt Jaipur Center
The disruption occurred at the iON Digital Zone (Test Center Nos. 41682 and 41683) located in the Sitapura industrial area of Jaipur during the nationwide NEET-PG 2026 examinations held on August 30, 2026. According to student testimonies, the online examination—which commenced at 9:00 AM—was interrupted roughly 10 times within the first two hours alone.
Aspirants reported that computers repeatedly shut down due to persistent power cuts. When systems rebooted, only a fraction of questions reappeared on screens, severely compromising concentration and fairness. Candidates alleged that center staff and representatives from the testing agency, TCS, failed to provide adequate technical explanations or address distress calls during the ordeal.
Student Protests Lead to Exam Cancellation and Re-Rescheduling
Frustrated by the administrative apathy and technical breakdown, candidates staged immediate protests inside and outside the examination venue. Faced with escalating unrest and uproar, authorities ultimately canceled the test session at the Sitapura facility.
Recognizing the validity of the grievances, NBEMS officially declared that a re-examination will be conducted exclusively for the affected candidates on September 5, 2026, starting at 3:00 PM in Jaipur. The board will release updated admit cards and specific venue details for the impacted students shortly.
Nationwide NEET-PG 2026 Overview
While the Jaipur Sitapura center faced operational failures, the broader national examination proceeded across 1,111 centers in India on August 30, 2026. Official board figures indicate that out of 2,73,096 registered candidates, 2,65,980 appeared for the test, with 2,63,535 successfully completing the examination nationwide. NBEMS has assured candidates from the affected Jaipur venue that their candidature is protected and that all necessary arrangements are being made for a seamless re-test.
