In the national capital region, including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Gurugram, heavy downpours are expected to disrupt daily routines. Local authorities and commuters are bracing for potential waterlogging and traffic congestion, with gusty winds predicted to reach speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour.
Extensive Rainfall Warnings Across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
Uttar Pradesh is on high alert, with heavy showers slated for numerous districts, including Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Meerut, Jhansi, and Sultanpur, where wind speeds could touch 65 kilometers per hour. Neighboring Bihar is similarly affected, with districts such as Patna, Purnia, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, and Buxar facing thunderstorm warnings accompanied by strong surface winds reaching up to 80 kilometers per hour.
Heavy Rain Forecast for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Hilly Terrain
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated across multiple districts in Madhya Pradesh—including Gwalior, Rewa, Satna, and Tikamgarh—as well as widespread downpours across major regions of Rajasthan like Jaipur, Bikaner, Udaipur, and Kota.
In the Himalayan and northern states, the IMD has flagged severe weather risks for hill stations and mountainous tracts. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecast for parts of Uttarakhand (including Dehradun, Haridwar, and Pithoragarh), Himachal Pradesh (such as Shimla, Manali, and Kangra), and Jammu and Kashmir, prompting advisories urging travelers to exercise extreme caution against landslides and slippery roads.
