Haryana's Power: Massive ₹12,000 Crore Project Underway to Bring Rajasthan’s Green Solar Energy to Fatehabad

A massive infrastructural milestone is underway to channel abundant, eco-friendly solar power generated across the Rajasthan desert directly into the power grids of Haryana and Punjab. Valued at an estimated ₹12,000 crore, this ambitious transmission project will extend high-voltage 400 kV power corridors from Bikaner down to Siwani Mandi and onward to various regional distribution networks, effectively putting an end to lingering regional power deficits. In Fatehabad district alone, robust developmental work is active across 138 strategic locations, spearheaded by major transmission initiatives including the Siwani-Patra and Siwani-Fatehabad power grid corridors. Fatehabad Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vivek Bharti recently convened a high-level review meeting under the Proactive Governance and Timely Implementation (Pragati) framework, instructing officials and executing agencies to strictly maintain uncompromising construction quality and adhere to tight completion deadlines through seamless inter-departmental coordination.

Comprehensive Route Breakdown, Tower Installation Scale, and High-Level State Monitoring

Project officials detailed the extensive engineering scope during the review, noting that the Siwani-Patra 400 kV segment spans 87 locations across 11 villages within the Tohana and Bhuna sectors, while the Siwani-Fatehabad line encompasses 51 locations across four rural pockets. The overarching Siwani-Fatehabad transmission line will stretch across a total length of 165 kilometers, supported by 197 massive high-tension towers distributed across Siwani, Hisar, and Fatehabad, terminating near the Fatehabad city bus stand's 220 kV substation. Simultaneously, the extended 281-kilometer Siwani-Patara corridor will feature 354 towers traversing Bhiwani, Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Sangrur, and Patara in Punjab. To ensure zero bottlenecks, Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi also conducted an exhaustive progress review of these vital energy infrastructure projects via video conferencing, urging district authorities to proactively resolve administrative and technical roadblocks to secure uninterrupted green energy flow for North India.
