Direct Connectivity to Rajasthan and Gujarat Announced for Barauni-Bhuj Route
In a significant boost to regional rail passenger infrastructure, the Railway Board has officially approved the operation of a brand-new Amrit Bharat Express train service (train numbers 19427/19428) linking Barauni Junction in Bihar to Bhuj in Gujarat, with a prime commercial halt scheduled at Gonda Junction in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The introduction of this modern non-air-conditioned push-pull service fulfills a long-standing travel demand for thousands of daily passengers across the Devipatan administrative division, providing direct, affordable, and seamless interstate rail connectivity toward commercial hubs and religious pilgrimage destinations across Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Big Relief for Devipatan Division: Direct Route to Ajmer Sharif, Kota, and Sawai Madhopur
The newly sanctioned train service substantially simplifies travel routes for regular commuters, students, and pilgrims across eastern Uttar Pradesh:
Direct Pilgrimage Access: Devotees travelling from Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, and Bahraich to offer prayers at the historic Ajmer Sharif Dargah in Rajasthan will now have direct point-to-point journey access, eliminating tiresome train switches at intermediate junctions.
Support for Students and Tourists: The line creates direct transit links toward key Rajasthan junctions, including the coaching educational hub of Kota and the tourist gateway of Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore), delivering massive relief for students and holiday travelers alike.
Long-Distance Travel Expansion: Announcing the strategic rollout of the service, Railway Board Director Sanjay R. Neelam highlighted that this high-capacity express service will offer a reliable, cost-effective long-distance option for regional workforce personnel migrating between industrial clusters in western India and eastern heartlands.
Connecting Four Key States: Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat on One Corridor
The designated Barauni–Bhuj alignment forms a crucial rail transportation artery cutting horizontally across Northern and Western India:
Four-State Integration: The new corridor directly integrates commercial freight and passenger movement across four major states—Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.
Modern Push-Pull Advantages: Operating under Indian Railways' indigenous Amrit Bharat standard, the train features specialized push-pull locomotive architecture at both ends, ensuring rapid acceleration, reduced turnaround times, and superior passenger comfort across long-distance sleeper and unreserved coaches.
Detailed Timetable Awaited: While the operational clearance and primary stoppage at Gonda Junction have been formally notified by the Railway Board, railway authorities confirmed that the comprehensive running timetable, commercial launch date, intermediate station stoppages, and ticket booking reservations will be officially released in due course.
