According to reports released by the State Election Commission (SEC), a total of 77 candidates have officially won their respective seats unopposed across various municipal bodies in the state. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged as the dominant force in this pre-poll phase, securing a commanding lead by bagging 44 unopposed seats, while independent candidates and the opposition Congress trail behind.
Party-Wise Breakdown of Unopposed Wins and Regional Concentration
A closer look at the electoral statistics reveals a stark political divide across districts. Of the 77 candidates who secured walkovers, the BJP leads the tally with 44 unopposed victories, accounting for approximately 56.4% of these seats. Independent candidates secured the second position with 17 seats (roughly 23.1%), while the grand old party, Congress, managed to secure 16 unopposed seats (about 20.5%). Notably, regional outfits and smaller third-party formations failed to open their account in this pre-poll phase. Geographically, Deeg district recorded the highest concentration of unopposed wins with 10 wards, followed by Chittorgarh with 6 seats, Sikar with 5, and Alwar, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, and Khairthal-Tijara securing 4 unopposed wins each.

While suburban and regional districts witnessed numerous uncontested victories, the political landscape in the capital tells an entirely different story. According to the SEC schedule, actual voting for the remaining contested urban body seats is set to take place in phases on September 9 and September 11, 2026. Highlighting the fierce political contest in major urban centers, election officials noted that the capital city of Jaipur experienced completely opposite trends, with not a single candidate managing an unopposed victory across all 150 wards of the Jaipur Municipal Corporation, setting the stage for high-stakes electoral battles in the days ahead.
