Actress Radhika Madan recently shared how the late Sushant Singh Rajput played a significant role in motivating her to switch from television to films. In an interview with Curly Tales, Radhika said Sushant’s successful leap from television to the silver screen gave her hope that she could do the same.

During her initial days in the entertainment industry, her TV show set was next to Sushant’s. Although they never personally met, observing his rise to fame through films like Kai Po Che! and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story left a strong impression on her. "Us time aisa lagta tha ki Sushant chala gaya toh main bhi jaa sakti hoon," she said, explaining how his journey became a benchmark for her own aspirations.

From Delhi Auditions to a Career in Cinema

Radhika began her acting career at 17 with the television show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi. She recalled being unexpectedly called for a look test in Mumbai after clearing auditions in Delhi. The offer she received — a monthly salary of ₹1 lakh — surprised her and her family. "Papa said isko kisi ne scam kar diya hai," she joked, reflecting on her father’s disbelief.

Carving a Niche in Bollywood

Since then, Radhika has made a name for herself in the film industry. Her performances in Pataakha, Shiddat, and Angrezi Medium earned praise from critics and audiences alike. Most recently, she starred opposite Akshay Kumar in Sarfira. While the film didn’t perform well at the box office, her acting was widely appreciated.

Radhika’s journey reflects the lasting influence of Sushant Singh Rajput on aspiring actors from television backgrounds. Her tribute also highlights the power of visible success stories in encouraging others to dream bigger.
