Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Mumbai, India – A major fire has destroyed one of the sets of India's most popular television shows, Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly. The incident, which occurred at Mumbai's Film City in Goregaon, has prompted a major industry body to demand a formal investigation into the blaze and the safety standards on film sets.

Fortunately, no cast or crew members were present at the time of the fire, and no injuries or casualties have been reported. The blaze completely gutted one of the two shooting locations used by the production. Preliminary reports suggest that a short circuit may have been the cause, but an official confirmation is awaited.

In a swift response to the incident, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has formally intervened. The association has written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the Mumbai Police Commissioner, urging them to launch a thorough investigation.

In its letter, AICWA expressed serious concerns over the recurring fire incidents at Film City. The association questioned whether adequate fire safety measures were in place on the Anupamaa set and called for a probe to determine if negligence played a role in the accident.

"This incident raises serious questions about the safety and security of the workers and artists on the sets," the AICWA statement read, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of safety protocols across the industry to prevent such disasters in the future.

The show, produced by Rajan Shahi under the banner of Director's Kut Productions, is a consistent ratings leader. While the immediate crisis has been averted without harm to any personnel, the fire has sparked a crucial conversation about the often-overlooked issue of workplace safety in India's bustling entertainment industry.
