Supporters of Khalistan attempted to shout slogans against Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar as he was getting into his car after taking part in an event at Chatham House think tank in London.

A video posted on social media shows a man walking up to S Jaishankar’s car and ripping the National Flag into pieces. Some Khalistani supporters staged protests outside the venue where Jaishankar was participating in the discussion.

Another Khalistani extremist protest outside the venue where some participants reported that Jaishankar was speaking or engaging in discussions. Protesters were seen with flags shouting pro Khalistani slogans and the flags were on the stems of guns.

Jaishankar is in the UK and Ireland from March 4 to 9 for an official visit which aims at consolidating India’s relations with these countries further.

As per the MEA release, India and the UK have a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and it is claimed that the relationship has deepened in several areas including defense, trade, health, education and people to people contact.
