Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Priyanka Chopra late on Tuesday shared an Instagram story as a touching tribute to her late father Dr. Ashok Chopra on the 12th anniversary of his passing. She also added a throwback childhood picture of him which showed her smiling beside her father, looking cheerful next to him on what seemed to be a family trip.
The image radiated warmth and affection typical of family bonds. Along with the image, she wrote, “Miss you every day, dad” and added a pink heart emoji. This combination of words and an image managed to convey a simple yet powerful message which left many of her fans touched.
Dr. Ashok Chopra fought a long battle with cancer before succumbing in 2013. Priyanka has always underscored the tremendous bond they had. In spite of the pain, she keeps alive his memory through interviews, social media posts, and public appearances.
While at the Red Sea International Film Festival, Priyanka shared her story and spoke about how she dealt with her father’s death. She was beginning to film the biopic “Mary Kom” at the time of his death.
Transforming Loss Into Strength Through Her Work
Priyanka returned to the set just four days after the funeral. She felt that continuing her work was in alignment with her father's wishes. The grieving process she underwent was channeled into her emotional performance, particularly the demanding physical sequences.
The empathic resilience she possessed while mourning fueled her characterization of Mary Kom. The portrayal demanded not only physical endurance but intense emotional engagement, which Priyanka attributed to her profound grief.
