He said that he wanted to take the relationship between Australia and India to the next stage. The resolve to make the Indo-Pacific region free and independent requires close defense and security ties.

In an interview given to Australia’s leading newspaper ‘The Australian’ on Monday, Prime Minister Modi said – ‘I am not a person who gets satisfied easily. I am sure that when we are together again in Sydney, we will have an opportunity to explore how we can take bilateral relations to the next level. For this we have to identify new areas of complementarity and mutual cooperation can be expanded.

He strongly dismissed the question that India’s refusal to criticize Russia could sour its relations with Australia.
