Suspense crime, Digital Desk : She achieved distinct recognition in Bollywood, which was monopolized by Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukherji, and Kareena Kapoor, due to her charisma, entertaining voice, and brave stands. Preity Zinta had a career with a reasonable number of blockbuster films and astounding financial success -she was not considered a top grossing actress, but definitely noticed.
She made headlines in 2001 with her Zinta courage: in a court hearing about the underworld's role in the movie Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Zinta testified claiming she had received phone calls for extortion from gangster Chota Shakeel’s gang, which was offering a ransom of 50 lakh. She flatly rejected the offer.
Firmly against the Mumbai Underworld and their goons, Zinta’s testimony- which is far from conventional in that time period- earned her the Godfrey Phillips National Bravery Award along with a rare honor of being one of the industry members not scared to openly voice their opinion against the Mumbai underworld.
Zinta and the Amrohi Controversy
Zinta acquired the attention of Shandar Amrohi after publicly admitting to considering her as a daughter and proposing a will of bestowing her a staggering 600 crore estate. Regardless, Zinta carefully declines said proposition. However, following the filmmaker's passing, Zinta initiated a lawsuit against his children for 2 crore on account of a loan granted for medical expenses.
A Hit Movie Career In Bollywood
Preity Zinta’s career kickstarted in 1997 with a role in Mani Ratnam’s blockbuster “Dil Se”, and she continued to achieve success with:
Kya Kehna

Veer Zaara
Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna
After 2007, her appearances in Bollywood became less frequent. She also featured in other regional movies like The Last Lear and Heaven on Earth.
Attempts At A Comeback And Current Status
In 2013 and 14, Preity Zinta attempted to make a comeback with Ishkq in Paris and Happy Ending, only to go into another hiatus. She now aims to relaunch her career with the film Lahore 1947 in 2024.
Preity Zinta has also maintained her position as a co-owner of the Punjab Kings (IPL) since 2008, and is known as an active spectator during the matches. She resides with her husband and two kids outside of the country, where she often provides updates on her daily life through her social media accounts.
Preity Zinta's movies display her remarkable spirit, unwavering tenacity, and deep-rooted nationalism, traits which endear her admirers.
