Permission will be taken from Lok Sabha speaker

Sources said that permission will be taken from the Lok Sabha Speaker to collect the footage. The police can recreate the scene at the spot after taking the statements of the MPs and getting the footage. Notice will be sent to Rahul Gandhi and other MPs. After recording the statements of the MPs, Rahul Gandhi will be questioned in this matter.

On the other hand, in the complaint filed by Congress to the police, BJP MPs have been accused of pushing Mallikarjun Kharge and under SC/ST Act. Police is also investigating this complaint filed by Congress.

According to sources, Delhi Police may also write a letter to the Parliament Secretariat and demand CCTV footage of the area where the alleged incident took place. An official said that senior police officers may also consider handing over the case from the local police to the Crime Branch.

Case filed against Rahul Gandhi

Let us tell you that a case was registered on Thursday at Sansad Marg police station under sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 117 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others), 131 (use of criminal force), 351 (criminal intimidation) and 3 (5) (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. A case was registered against Rahul Gandhi just hours after the BJP filed a complaint. In the complaint, he has been accused of “attacking and provoking” during the scuffle. Two BJP MPs Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput were injured in this scuffle.

Police may send summons to Rahul Gandhi

According to a police source, the officers may call Rahul Gandhi for questioning and also record the statements of other MPs who witnessed the incident. The source said that a team of police officers may also meet Sarangi and Rajput in the hospital and record their statements for further investigation. He said that their medical reports will be collected. BJP MP Hemang Joshi along with party colleagues Anurag Thakur and Bansuri Swaraj went to Parliament Street police station on Thursday and lodged a complaint. The Congress strongly rejected this claim and alleged that BJP MPs pushed party president Mallikarjun Kharge and “pushed” Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. Congress has also lodged a complaint in this matter.
