Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while on a tour to Kanpur last Friday, decided to meet the grieving family of Shubham Dwivedi, who was one of the 26 people killed in the Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir terror attack on April 22. The Prime Minister took a special helicopter trip to Chakeri airport in order to meet the family personally, confirming that he would console them in person.  

Family Holiday Turns Into A Nightmare  

Due to a shooting in Pahalgam's Baisaran meadow, Shubham Dwivedi along with his wife and family were caught in a crossfire. The 31 year old businessman from Kanpur was shot dead on the spot. He had received a bullet to the head. Shubham had just recently gotten married on the 12th of Febuary.  

In A Direct Claim Towards Terrorism, PM Modi Condoles Shubham's Death While Refunding India's Stance Towards Terror Attacks  

PM Modi had a very personal meeting with Ashanya, Shubham's wife together with Sanjay and Seema Dwivedi, his parents. During the meeting, the prime minister made it very clear that he views the attack on Shubham as a 'lowly' and 'maneuvered’ one post which he stated Shubham’s family would be assured of fighting terrorism on their behalf.  

“Let this be the first of many, we will never cease in our attempts on our terror mission,” the family was informed came on words of PM Modi.  

Speaking with reporters, Ashanya confirms that PM too conducted his routine visit post my husband’s death, met me, and spoke to me personally, putting the entire nation out of my side.

“While reminiscing, it hit him hard emotionally. He also told us about Operation Sindoor that was initiated because of the attack. We felt a belongingness toward that name,” she revealed.

Meeting Organized After Request From Kanpur MP

The engagement came on the heels of a parliamentary request from Kanpur MP Ramesh Awasthi, who sought a direct meeting through the PMO’s office.

Awasthi stated the family expressed gratitude to PM Modi for his support and acknowledging the prompt action taken to tackle terror in response to the incident.  

Appeals For Recognition As Martyr

The Dwivedi family has petitioned the government to grant official martyr status to Shubham Dwivedi citing his valor and sacrifice concerning the unfortunate incident.

Modi’s Scheduled Visit To The State For Development Purposes

In addition to the visit to offer condolences, Modi was in the state for the launching of multiple developmental initiatives such as the Chunniganj to Kanpur Central section of the Kanpur Metro and expansion of roads on GT Road.
