Ineligibility for the Scheme

It’s crucial to note that certain individuals are not eligible for the PM Kisan Yojana. Those who contribute income tax or hold constitutional positions such as Mayors, District Panchayat Chairpersons, Members of Legislative Assemblies or Councils, and current or former Members of Parliament are excluded from the scheme. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized in the interim budget for 2024-25 that efforts to enhance income and support farmers would be a priority.
