Delhi-Mumbai Air Route: Blatently untrue rumors are spreading on social media amidst growing hostilities between India and Pakistan. Claims like “India destroyed Pakistan's port” or “Pakistan downed multiple Indian fighter jets” are being made in posts. One such claim that has also come to the forefront is that the airlines operating on the Delhi-Mumbai airline route has suspended service for the time being. This particular claim has been debunked by the fact-checking division of Press Information Bureau (PIB).

Claiming ‘services on Delhi-Mumbai route are closed’ is fake: PIB

In what appears to be a response on X platform, PIB labelled this claim 'fake.’ Furthermore, PIB said that the Airports Authority of India has lifted the operational suspension on 25 ATS sections within the Delhi and Mumbai flight information region. Meaning, there is no cessation on operations.

The regulation does state that airlines and flight managers need to implement alternate air traffic control route plans in accordance with air traffic control regulations. Controlled changes are being implemented in accordance with ATC standards to uphold safety while minimizing interruptions to operations.

For safety measures, 32 airports have been shut down.

This measure has gone into effect by the Notice of Airmen (NOTAM's) issued by the Authority of India (AAI) on the 3rd of court and is expected to assist operational capability between the 9th and 15th of May 202. The noticed airports include Adilpur, Ambala, Amritsar, Avantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Nalia, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hiraser), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise and Uttarlai.
