Parliament Session LIVE Updates: Bundles of notes found on Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s seat in Rajya Sabha, uproar in the House

Congress MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s reaction has come to the fore on the allegation of finding bundles of notes in the Rajya Sabha. The Congress MP said, ‘I have heard this for the first time. I had never heard it till now. Whenever I go to the Rajya Sabha, I take a 500 rupee note with me. This is the first time I have heard that bundles of notes have been found near my seat. I reached the Parliament at 12:57 and the House resumed at 1 pm. After this, I sat in the canteen till 1:30 pm and then left the Parliament.’

Union Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda said that this is a very serious matter. This is an attack on the dignity of the House. At the same time, Union Minister Piyush Goyal asked why this money was brought. This should be told.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said, ‘I want to inform the MPs that during the routine checking after the adjournment of the House yesterday (Thursday), security officials recovered a bundle of notes from seat number 222, which is currently allotted to Abhishek Manu Singhvi, elected from Telangana state. This matter has been brought to my notice. I have ensured that an investigation is conducted in this matter.’

On the farmers’ ‘Dilli Chalo’ march, RJD MP Manoj Jha said, “Where does the government see any dilemma in this? This is their country, they are the food providers. If they go on a symbolic strike for a day, the country will shut down.”

Opposition MPs, including Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, protested in the Parliament premises. During this, the opposition MPs wore black masks on their faces and held a copy of the Constitution in their hands.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said, ‘After the sacrifice of 700 farmers on the Delhi border, an agreement has been reached between the Agriculture Minister and the farmers. The constitutional guarantee of minimum support price has not been given. This is the government’s breach of promise. The demands of the farmers of Uttar Pradesh who want to come to Delhi are legitimate. The government should fulfill all the demands of the farmers.’

On the farmers’ protest in Delhi, Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav said, “The government should accept the demands of the farmers and talk to them. Farmers are protesting because their demands are not being met.”

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation and the increase in crime in Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh has given a notice of adjournment of the House to discuss the threats being received by MPs.
