P Chidambaram Questions INDIA Bloc's Future, Praises BJP's Strong Organization:

Suspense crime, Digital Desk : While participating in the launch of Contesting Democratic Deficit, a book he co-wrote with Mritunjay Singh Yadav, Congress’s veteran leader P Chidambaram spoke about the current state of the INDIA bloc with a degree of skepticism. Yadav stayed positive, but Chidambaram stated he was doubtful whether the alliance remained in one piece.

The strength of the BJP’s machine was praised by Chidambaram for “its” unmatched structure that dominantly works at multi-faceted and deep-rooted levels. According to him, no other party in India’s history has operated at such a level, able to control institutions such as the Election Commission and even the police”.

The democratic systems of the country are complicated and multi-faceted. A senior leader noted there is always some level of electoral meddling, but in India, no political party can attain monopolistic electoral supremacy. "You can interfere, you can tinker, but you can’t eliminate fair elections," he stated.
