
Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Saturday night due to dehydration. His family assured that his condition was not serious, and he was discharged after a routine check-up.
Saira Banu Speaks on Their Relationship
While Rahman’s health update made headlines, his wife, Saira Banu, addressed public speculation regarding their relationship. In a voice note shared on Sunday, she urged fans not to refer to her as Rahman’s “ex-wife.”
She began with a greeting, saying:
"Assalamualaikum. I wish him a speedy recovery. I heard that he had chest pain and underwent angiography, but by the grace of Allah, he is fine now."
Banu clarified that they are separated but not divorced, explaining:
"We are still husband and wife. I was unwell for the past two years and didn’t want to stress him, but please don’t call me ‘ex-wife.’"
She also requested that Rahman’s family take good care of him and not overwhelm him with stress.
