Suspense crime, Digital Desk : OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 13s will launch with a new fully customizable hardware button known as the ‘Plus Key,’ which replaces the alert slider. This marks the first time a OnePlus phone in India will be sold without the iconic alert slider.

The company teased the feature a promotional video posted on X, suggesting that the Plus Key can be adapted to enable tasks such as changing audio profiles, opening apps, turning the flashlight on, or starting a voice recording.

Increased Customization Compared To Alert Slider

The ‘Plus Key’ seemingly allows for greater flexibility as suggested by the alert slider's functionality in use. Similar to Apple’s Action Button, and the shortcut key on OnePlus 13T launched in China earlier this year, this button too can be customized to multipurpose tasks.

The shift aligns with the earlier statement made by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, outlining the company’s plans to implement more programmable and customizable buttons on new devices in the future.
