The Telugu romantic action film ‘Robinhood’ first premiered in theatres on March 28th, 2025, and had a good start at the box office. The film is headlined by Sreeleela and Nithiin and has received promotion through vibrant ads and appealing music. According to estimates, Robinhood made approximately Rs. 2.00 Crore net in India on the first day.
The film had a first day box office occupancy of 21.56 percent which is decent for a regular Friday without a holiday streak. The occupancy figures suggest the film gained momentum for the later evening shows where it had a lower base of 28.15 percent indicating some most likely positive word of mouth from the first audience that attended the movie.
Hyderabad came in highest regionally for ticket sales with 29.75 percent while Bengaluru trails behind with 12.75 percent. Morning shows began with 19.62 percent attendance and increased to 21.84 percent during the afternoon session. They did experience a drop late afternoon to 16.62 percent before recovering later at night.
Where Robinhood has had mixed to positive reviews from critics, they seem to have found their “niche”, especially within the youth, due to its flamboyant look and captivating performances. The initial figure of Rs 2 crore is not the best, but for opening day it creates a solid base for the rest of the weekend. Robinhood’s profitability is still uncertain, to put it plainly, a lot is riding on Saturday and Sunday footfalls.
In the upcoming days, the movie will face competition from other films, which may make it hard to sustain momentum. Furthermore, if the film continues to receive positive word of mouth, particularly from tier 2 and tier 3 cities, then it will put Robinhood on an upward trend in collections.
