Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Nirjala Ekadashi, revered as one of the most significant and austere fasting days in Hinduism, will be observed with deep devotion in 2025. This sacred Ekadashi, falling in the Jyeshtha month during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon), is unique because devotees abstain from both food and water, making it the toughest of all Ekadashis. It is believed that observing Nirjala Ekadashi with sincerity can bestow the blessings equivalent to observing all 24 Ekadashis throughout the year. It's also known as Pandava Ekadashi or Bhimseni Ekadashi.

Key Dates and Auspicious Timings for Nirjala Ekadashi 2025:

Ekadashi Tithi (Lunar Day) Begins: Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11:21 PM

Ekadashi Tithi Ends: Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:11 PM

Nirjala Ekadashi Vrat (Fast) Date: Friday, June 6, 2025 (as the Ekadashi tithi is predominant during sunrise on this day)

(Note: On the Parana day, the Dwadashi Tithi ends at 07:05 PM.)

Rituals and Observances:

The Nirjala Ekadashi fast is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and observers undertake it with immense faith. Key rituals include:

Strict Fasting: Devotees refrain from consuming any food or water from the sunrise of Ekadashi until the sunrise of Dwadashi (the day after Ekadashi), only breaking the fast during the designated Parana time.

Puja (Worship): Special prayers and pujas are offered to Lord Vishnu. Devotees often visit temples or perform worship at home. Offering yellow flowers, fruits (like mangoes, as it falls in summer), and yellow sweets is considered auspicious.

Mantra Chanting: Chanting Vishnu mantras, such as "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya," and reading scriptures like the Vishnu Sahasranama or Ekadashi Mahatmya is highly encouraged.

Tulsi Worship: While Tulsi (holy basil) is sacred to Lord Vishnu, it's generally advised not to pluck Tulsi leaves on Ekadashi. Offerings of water mixed with Tulsi leaves plucked the previous day can be made.

Charity (Daan): Giving alms to the needy, especially items like water, seasonal fruits, clothes, or money, on the day of Parana (Dwadashi) is considered highly meritorious and enhances the benefits of the fast.

Observing Nirjala Ekadashi is believed to cleanse sins, bring prosperity, good health, and lead to spiritual liberation (Moksha). Adhering to the correct timings for starting the fast and performing Parana is crucial for reaping the full spiritual rewards.
