Shobha Reddy, a prominent woman entrepreneur and proprietor of Hyderabad-based outdoor advertising firm Mithuna Ads, publicly alleged that an influential aide close to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy summoned her to a private guest house to negotiate official business proposals. Taking to social media platform X to express her dismay, the entrepreneur recounted that she had spent over three years seeking legitimate commercial opportunities in the state's outdoor advertising domain and had submitted formal proposals suggesting temporary revenue-sharing mechanisms until statutory tenders could be finalized. Instead of administrative facilitation through standard governmental corridors, she was instructed to report directly to a private guest house, triggering widespread outrage regarding the safety, dignity, and professional environment provided to female business owners in the state.

Regulatory Violations, Selective Favors, and Unofficial Summons

Detailing systemic disparities within the local civic administration, Shobha Reddy highlighted that while legitimate entrepreneurs wait endlessly for transparent approvals, illegal advertising hoardings and structural installations continue operating across prime locations in Hyderabad despite pending regulatory violation notices. She further pointed out that selective dispensations and high-value pilot projects were handed out under Government Order (GO) Ms. No. 68, while compliant vendors faced bureaucratic stone-walling. Emphasizing her refusal to compromise her dignity, the entrepreneur stated that while she chose not to publicly name the individual involved, official matters must be conducted exclusively through transparent, structured, and formal administrative offices rather than secluded guest houses, insisting that she sought no undue state favors except a level playing field, fair treatment, and professional respect.

BRS Mounts Fierce Attack as Opposition Demands Probe Amid CMO Silence

The disclosure has triggered an aggressive confrontation between the ruling Congress administration and the primary opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), with opposition leaders demanding an immediate personal clarification from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Senior BRS functionary Dr. R.S. Praveen Kumar called for an independent, time-bound investigation into the coercion of a woman professional, while party leader M. Krishank questioned the identity of the Chief Minister's confidant and demanded to know why commercial policy deliberations were being routed through private accommodations. Despite the escalating political friction and mounting public scrutiny across Telangana, neither the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Telangana state government, the ruling Congress party, nor state law enforcement agencies have issued a formal statement regarding the allegations.
