An unfortunate occurrence has triggered a Mumbai man to take his own life, allegedly due to constant torture from his wife and her aunt. On the 28th of February, Nishant Tripathi committed suicide in his room at Sahara Hotel, leaving a note on his company's webpage blaming his wife, Apoorva Parikh, and her aunt, Prarthana Mishra, for his death.
Police say the man checked into a hotel last week, putting a 'Do Not Disturb' sign outside his room. Only on Friday did the hotel staff check on him after failing to elicit any responses from inside the room.
Last week’s trip
Nishant checked into the hotel three days before his supposed death. On February 28, he was going to spend the day in the room, so he planned to check if he could be left alone. Since he had not indicated whether he was interested in talking to anyone, the staff did not arrive at his door.
As per the claim, the door was opened by a staff member and, to their shock, he was discovered hanged.
Staff members immediately called local police.
Allegations of mental harassment were strong, he claimed on his company page.
Five months prior to the event, Tripathi claimed to have lost control of his mental state because of the repeating patterns of emotional and psychological injuries on his firm’s intranet.
"Suicide note posted on company website," stated his claim.
"By the time you read this, I would already be dead. There were times I could have deeply hated you for everything that happened, but I don’t, not right now. For this moment, I choose love. I loved you then. I love you now, and as I had promised, it’s not going to fade,” he narrated.
“My mother knows that among all of the other struggles I had to go through, you and Prarthana Mausi are also to blame for my death. So do me a favor and don’t go to her now. She is broken enough. Let her mourn in peace,” the note said.
Police complaint registered, no arrests made as yet.
Women’s rights advocate Neelam Chaturvedi, mother of the deceased, has lodged a case alleging harassment against Tripathi's wife and his aunt, claiming they bullied him into suicide.
The duo has been charged with aiding suicide, yet no arrests have been made so far, pending further investigation, according to police.
Post from mother's emotional social media account.
In a post on Facebook, Chaturvedi, who claims to have assisted more than 37,000 women in their battles with the justice system, said that she is a living corpse after her son passed away.
