The Pakistan cricket team lost the first match of the Test series on Sunday, August 25. Pakistan witnessed its first defeat against Bangladesh in the history of Test cricket. Mushfiqur Rahim’s big century overshadowed Mohammad Rizwan’s brilliant performance in Rawalpindi and Bangladesh defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets. However, Rizwan also performed brilliantly in this match. He was the only player for Pakistan who performed brilliantly with the bat in both innings.

Rizwan made a special record

Rizwan scored his highest Test score in the first innings, scoring an unbeaten 171 runs as Pakistan declared the innings at 448, and then showed his batting prowess by scoring a half-century in the second innings. Rizwan top-scored in both innings but could not save his team from defeat. No other player for Pakistan could play a big inning in this match.

Pakistan suffered a 10-wicket defeat for the first time at home, but Rizwan created history with his brilliant innings in the first Test match. Rizwan broke Taslim Arif’s record for the most runs by a Pakistani wicketkeeper in a Test match by scoring 222 runs in two innings. Only three Pakistani wicketkeepers have managed to score more than 200 runs in a Test match.
