Rajamouli’ was released on Monday, offering a glimpse into the life and creative process of one of India’s most celebrated filmmakers. The trailer showcases praise from industry colleagues, alongside candid critiques of his intense work ethic.

The trailer opens with Rajamouli expressing his passion for storytelling: “I want to tell an incredible story. I want people to get invested in the movie.” Following this, his ‘RRR’ star Jr NTR declares, “This person is born to make movies. He is born to tell stories that haven’t been told.” Prabhas, known for his role in ‘Baahubali,’ describes Rajamouli as “a mad person, that’s all,” emphasizing his unique creative brilliance.

The trailer also features an unexpected appearance by Canadian filmmaker James Cameron, who commends Rajamouli’s achievements, stating that he has earned the respect to work with anyone in the industry. Ram Charan recalls moments on set where Rajamouli’s focus led to technical mishaps, like breaking microphones. Jr NTR adds, “You sit with him you start feeling that he’s got no empathy at all. He’s a madman, and there’s no point in arguing with him.”

The trailer concludes with Rajamouli’s assertion that he is devoted entirely to the stories he tells: “The only thing I am a slave to is the story.”

Produced by Applause Entertainment and Film Companion Studios, ‘Modern Masters: S.S. Rajamouli’ will premiere on Netflix on August 2.
