Madison’s foray into the world of cinema began trending after she snatched her first Oscar for best actress on Sunday for the movie “Anora.” What was considered to be solely a television affair has now expanded to the big screens as well for the 25 year old.

The Brooklyn-set comedy-drama's ambition did not go unnoticed as it was nominated for six awards.

Madison became a household name after she starred in `Better Things`, a comedy show on FX, where she played a moody teenage girl. Alongside “Better Things” going off the air in 2022, Madison has also starred in major films such as “Scream 5” and “Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood.”

Those jobs led Sean Bakes to write “Anora” and put Madison as the main character. In the film, she plays the role of an exotic dancer married to the son of a Russian oligarch. To prepare for the role, she learned pole dancing, Russian, and even performed her own stunts during filming.

Since its premiere at Cannes where it won the Palme d’Or, where it was showered with accolades, the movie has only grown in fame. It had a budget of $6 million and has been far surpassing box office profits ever since.

Demi Moore, who starred in “The Substance”, was a front-runner for the Oscar after winning Madison at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards Moore lost the BAFTA two days before Oscar voting to Madison, as well as to her last weekend during the Independent Spirit Awards
