Meerut Murder Case: Muskan Rastogi's Pregnancy Raises New Questions as Victim's Family Seeks DNA Test:

A new twist has emerged in the sensational Meerut murder case. Muskan Rastogi, who is currently lodged in Meerut jail for allegedly murdering her husband Saurabh Rajput with her lover Sahil Shukla, has tested positive for pregnancy. The deceased’s brother, Bablu Rajput, has stated that if the unborn child is Saurabh’s, he will adopt and raise the baby—on the condition that a DNA test first confirms paternity.

Muskan’s family has not yet commented on the matter, and the case continues to draw public interest due to its complexity and emotional weight.

Jail Visits and Isolation

While Sahil’s grandmother, Pushpa, has visited him twice in jail, bringing clothes and fruits, Muskan has received no visits from her family members, according to jail authorities.

Medical Examinations Ongoing

Senior Jail Superintendent Dr. Viresh Raj Sharma confirmed that Muskan's pregnancy was discovered during a routine health screening conducted for all female inmates. An ultrasound test has been scheduled to determine the status and duration of the pregnancy. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashok Kataria said that initial tests confirmed the pregnancy, and further evaluations are underway.

Gruesome Murder Shocks City

The case dates back to March 4, when Saurabh Rajput, a former merchant navy officer, was murdered in his home in Indiranagar, Meerut. Muskan and Sahil are accused of drugging and stabbing him to death, then cutting the body into pieces and sealing it in a plastic drum. The two suspects then fled to Himachal Pradesh and were arrested on March 18.

Accused Adjusting to Life in Jail

Currently in judicial custody, Muskan has taken up tailoring work inside the prison, while Sahil is involved in agricultural activities. Both are also participating in a rehabilitation initiative in collaboration with a de-addiction center.

Plot Originated Months Earlier

The conspiracy to kill Saurabh reportedly began in November of the previous year. According to police sources, the plan was finalized when Saurabh was set to return to India in February. The brutal nature of the murder and the calculated planning behind it have intensified public and media scrutiny.
