An unusual and alarming event took place on the Sachkhand Express, which runs from Nanded (Maharashtra) to Amritsar (Punjab). A verbal dispute between passengers over seating in the general coach turned violent when a Sikh man allegedly attacked another passenger with a sword.

The injured passenger, identified as Praveen, works as a medical representative and had boarded the train in Agra. He became involved in an argument with a group of Sikh passengers over seat occupancy. The confrontation escalated, and one individual from the group reportedly used a sword to assault Praveen, leaving him severely injured.

Railway Police Respond to Incident

Upon receiving information about the violent clash, the Railway Police (GRP) responded quickly. They detained four individuals in connection with the incident. Authorities confirmed that the injured man was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to a statement by a police official to the media:

“There was a dispute over a seat in the general coach of a train passing through Agra. A physical altercation followed, resulting in one man being injured. He has been admitted to a hospital, and further details are being gathered.”

This incident has raised serious concerns about passenger safety in general coaches, especially regarding the carrying of weapons on trains. The matter is under investigation, and the police are working to determine the exact sequence of events.
